Process Economics Program Report 34
Published: Mar-68
This report is concerned with processes for the manufacture of phthalic anhydride. Seven processes were evaluated. It is believed that all of these processes (or variations of them) are practiced on a commercial scale.
Although some information was obtained from licensers, the report was prepared primarily by using published information, such as patents, technical articles, and trade journal articles. Consequently, the process designs in this report are not identical to those offered for license by any company; similarities that exist are mainly in the basic ideas of an individual process, rather than in the details of the process design.
